Introduce

Paste AutoCAD objects into 3dsmax after copying objects in AutoCAD
But sometimes the dimension of cad objects may not match with 3dsmax scene ,you may be need a configuration dialog to get right setting,you can use "Import test" button in "Manager->AxeSetting" tool to set a matched unit setting for import objects.

How to

  1. Select objects in AutoCAD and press Ctrl+C to copy them

  2. Switch to 3dsmax ,execute the command.The objects in CAD will be imported (copied) to 3dsmax scense.

Tips

Note that,your version of CAD should match with the version of 3dsmax ,or you will get an error message.

Divide splines ,the number of divisions for each segment is caculated according a table which defined the relationship between the curvature and length of a segment.

Such a way to divide a spline is more efficent,because no too many or too few vertices are distributed when a segment is too short or too long.

Explode elements of a polygon object as many single objects , or explode spline sub-objects of a line or an editable spline as many single splines.

MoveObjs

Move selected objects from one point snapped to another one.

RefRotate

Rotate selected objects like in AutoCAD by snapped 3 points , first point as rotation center,the second and first define start angle, the third and first as rotation end.

Press splines that are not in the same level into a horizontal

Move mouse to draw splines with holding down the left mouse button.

If selected splines are clockwise direction ,reverse their vertices order to make them anti-colckwise direction.

Move each selected object along z-axis to ground surface .

DropToTerrZN

Move each selected object along z-axis and normal align to ground surface.

Copy

Save selected objects to a .max file for pasting later .

Paste

Paste objects stored by Copy tool to the scene,if right-click in view,the new objects will retain their origin positions .If left-click in the scene,the new objects will move to new position.

PivotCenBot

Set pivot for each selected object to it’s bottom center.

ClearSel

Clear selection

PickPivot

Pick a point and set the current select object’s pivot to it.

Create a line between two vertices of a spline

LockTransform

Lock the position ,rotation and scalor of objects.

ResetFile

Reset clears all data and resets 3ds Max settings (viewport configuration, snap settings, Material Editor, background image, and so on).

ResetXform

If your model has lost its original pivot,you can use the tool to set its pivot as your desired Pick 3 points to define a transform and apply it to selected model.In this transform, x aixs is defined by 1st and 2nd points,z axis is the normal of the plane defined by all 3 points
